Running Cars/Trucks On Biogas

Is it possible to run vehicles on biogas? I assume the gas would need to be scrubbed first?  Also, what type of configuration/adjustment would need to be made to the vehicles? Working on a project in Haiti and will have access to tonnes of organic materials. It would be nice to convert the vehicles and run them on biogas that the project produces.

Forums:

Sweden does it routinely -- trucks, buses, cars... just ask Robert Hall! He lives with this reality daily there..

Bob Hamburg said on our facebook group at  https://www.facebook.com/groups/methanogens/ "If there's a will... Several years ago, a fellow drove his car from Wash.DC to a biogas conference in Indianapolis, Ind., and back (about 2000 km using only biogas obtained at a few landfills and large ag systems along the way."

The UK is running buses off of farm made manure based biogas too...
Get a trifuel kit from US Carburation is my advice. We use them to modify generators and could be used to modify car engines too...

Thank you guys! Very helpful.

You are welcome! Also check for Jean Pain. He had a car powered by biogas: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JHRvwNJRNag

(From Facebook) Robert Hall say: Biogas island of Gotland is shifting as much as possible to locally-produced biogas. City buses, taxis, service vehicles, private cars. The island gets biogas from municipal wastewater, agriculture and poultry farm. There is a ten km biogas pipeline bringing biogas to dry local milk into milk powder for the food industry.
