Update

Changed out all blended food material (which we agreed may have soured off) and washed out digester. (Put old refuse into soil trench for worms).

filled to halfway mark with (untreated) cow manure from local area. Reconnected flexible gas capturing  ball. Wrapped digester tightly in black plastic and covered loosely with clear plastic bag and sat on one inch thick styrofoam in sunny location. 

keep sealed with no additional vegetation added until 'flammable' gas develops within the digester. Then only add food waste slowly to ensure it doesn't get overloaded...
